3PL Billing - Export Details
Enhanced visibility with metric-level audit exports
Version: 1.0
Owner: Omniful Product Team
Summary
Omniful has introduced a metric-wise export functionality within 3PL bills to enhance the visibility and auditability of billing outputs. Previously, bills displayed only consolidated totals for each billing metric, calculated across all selected hubs. While this provided financial clarity, users did not have direct visibility into the underlying operational records contributing to those totals.
With this enhancement, users can now export detailed, record-level data for applicable billing metrics directly from the bill view. The exported CSV provides a transaction-level breakdown including hub code, operation IDs, quantities, and other relevant details.
This enhancement significantly improves auditability, transparency, and operational reconciliation.
Impact
- Enables detailed audit and validation of consolidated billing metrics.
- Provides hub-level and transaction-level visibility for each billing metric.
- Reduces manual investigation effort for finance and hub managers.
- Strengthens transparency in multi-hub billing environments.
How It Works
1. Consolidated Billing (Existing Behavior)
When a bill is generated:
- Charges are displayed metric-wise.
- Each section shows Fee per unit, Usage, and Total fee.
The displayed total fees represent the consolidated usage fees across all selected hubs within the billing period.
2. Export Details (New Enhancement)
An Export option is now available against applicable billing metrics.
- When a user clicks Export:

- A CSV file is downloaded.

- The file contains detailed operational records contributing to the charge for that specific billing metric.
- Each row represents an individual transaction.
The consolidated total displayed in the bill equals the sum of the records included in the exported file.
Technical Details
Export Availability and Restrictions
The Export option is enabled only for billing metrics where operational, record-level data exists.
1. Recurring Fees
Recurring Fees are fixed, pre-agreed monthly charges that function similar to a subscription fee for ongoing services and operational support. Since they are not calculated based on transactional or usage-level records, record-level export is not applicable.

2. Other Metrics with No Data
If a billing metric has no usage records during the selected billing period, no file can be exported for that metric due to unavailability of data.

Operational Benefits
1. Audit Readiness
Hub managers and finance teams can validate:
- What transactions were billed and from which hub
- Against which operational ID (if applicable)
- With what quantity or metric
2. Faster Dispute Resolution
In case of billing disputes:
- No backend intervention is required.
- Record-level breakdown can be reviewed immediately.
3. Multi-Hub Transparency
Since totals are consolidated across hubs, the export enables:
- Hub-wise usage visibility
4. Financial Reconciliation
Supports accurate monthly internal audits.
This enhancement improves transparency and audit visibility within the billing module.
